I’ve made a lot of progress over the past few days, so I wanted to share, and maybe give myself a small pat on the back in the process.
I’m still trying to decide which excerpt I’d like to share for patrons. It’s hard to know what might sound enticing when pulled out of the context of the story, and as it’s still only a first draft, it feels rough and unpolished (because it is).
While I don’t mind sharing some (even most) things that way, when it comes to something I’ve worked this hard on, I can’t help but feel that if it were poorly received due to its rough nature, it might cause me to pull up stakes and abandon the whole thing. I’m not sure I could bear that.
I know that’s likely just negative thinking, but it is a possible outcome, which makes it a pretty terrifying prospect.
That said, a promise is a promise, so I will be posting a chapter at some point. I just wanted to explain the reason for the delay.
I’m also planning to post some of my worldbuilding notes at some point, so folks can acquaint themselves with the world of Ezeth. Honestly, that will likely happen before the chapter gets posted, but we’ll see. Both will happen, so it’s a matter of when, not if.
Keep a weather eye on the horizon.
