Truth be told, I had a couple days where progress stalled briefly (life things had come up that prevented me from getting much writing done), but work resumes.
I find myself continuously fighting the urge to edit the work I’ve already done rather than make progress on new material, but I know myself well enough to know that that way lies death. I have to keep reminding myself that there will be plenty of time for editing later on when the first draft is finally complete. Besides, it’s not really the editing that appeals to me, but the distraction from productivity that many of us often battle with on a daily basis. Anything is more appealing than the thing we’re actually supposed to be doing.
But, as the old saying goes, keep calm and carry on.
And so we do.
