As I’m sure we’re all aware, pursuing creative interests as a means of making a living often feels like a pipe dream. For me, it was a dream I long kept in a box, stowed carefully on a hidden shelf in the closet of my soul, collecting dust while I toiled at more easily marketable tasks. Every so often, I would take this box out and cradle it in my arms for a time, only to return it to its shelf and wake to cold reality.
Over the years, I managed to build a life and a career for myself that was reasonably successful, but ultimately unsatisfying. Mine is a familiar tale.
But here I am, hoping that, with your kind support, I might actually make a go of it. My ultimate goal is to pursue my writing full time and make a career of it. This is, of course, impossible without the generous support of friends, family, and (with luck) fans.
